It has been awhile since I set aside the time to write a blog post to say the least. It feels like every time I write one I finish it with some promise to myself that I will make it a staple in my routine… but alas here we are. It has been over a year since my last post and many things have changed. Let this post be a short look into what I have been up to and what to look forward to now that I have taken the time to build a content calendar of blog posts for at least the foreseeable few weeks.
First things first, I am officially a college graduate. To say I am happy and sad at the same time would be a great understatement. Happy to have the feeling of accomplishment of completing my advanced diploma and to have the privilege to now be in a position to start working in industry (fingers crossed I find employment in the next few months). Sad to leave the safe haven of my AMC family; the faculty and my classmates alike. I am planning on elaborating more on my college experience in a different post, so I’ll keep it short for today.
Second, on a more personal note I got a puppy in July 2019. She is a white boxer named Birdie and she was born hearing impaired. Our journey together has been quite fulfilling for me. Filled with more joy than I could have ever asked for. If you are a follower of my Instagram or talk to me for more than 10 minutes you can surely tell she is my favourite little being.
In taking the time to not make this post overly long, I will sum up my year in a few sentiments. It was a year of immense growth, experience, loss, and joy. Much like most recent graduates I am having the “now what?” rumblings, applying for countless jobs with the fun twist of being in quarantine. All and all, my three years in college were three years of great change in every aspect of my life, allowing me to have a much deeper understanding of who I am and what role I play in the puzzle of life.
So now I am sitting here during a global pandemic, a recent graduate with no current job prospects. I acknowledge things could be a lot worse. Things are out of my control so I am turning back to one of my favourite college pass-times… blogging. This blog will serve as a brief look into my mind. A little more personal sometimes, a little more marketing based others, and sometimes it might just be a good book or music recommendation - or lets face it, a ramble of thoughts I am having on any given topic.
This blog may in the coming weeks look like a mixed bag of content but it is all me and if you know me personally you know this is nothing new. I have many interests, opinions and insights I would like to start sharing with someone other than my parents and my hearing impaired dog. I hope you enjoy and find something of interest.
